Your rug, from our looms, your way
The rug you are imagining — the exact size for that awkward, wonderful room; the colour pulled from a painting you love; the texture you felt once in a hotel in Kyoto and never forgot — does not need to be a compromise. Because Monolith and Heart operates directly with our own artisan factories, a custom rug is not a special favour requiring exceptions up and down a supply chain. It is simply another loom ticket in workshops that have been executing bespoke commissions since 1983 — for private homes, designers and some of the most demanding interiors in the world.
What can be customised
Almost everything. Size and shape — from an intimate bedside piece to oversized rugs for open-plan living, runners cut to your actual hallway, circles, and irregular shapes. Colour — matched to your fabric, paint, artwork or imagination, and approved by you against real dyed fibre, not a screen. Material — wool, jute, hemp, cotton, leather, or our reclaimed denim, respun and PET yarns. Construction — hand-knotted, hand-tufted, flatweave or kelim, chosen for how the rug will actually live. Design — adapt any piece from our collection, or bring us something entirely your own.
How it works
- Share your vision. Size, colours, the room, any inspiration — photos, fabric swatches, Pinterest boards, a napkin sketch. All of it helps.
- We design and quote. Our design team proposes options, materials and an honest price, and we refine together until it is right.
- You approve the details. For colour-critical projects we can send dyed yarn poms or a woven sample so you decide with your own eyes and hands.
- We weave it. Your rug is made by the same master artisans, to the same certified standards, as everything carrying our name — and we keep you posted along the way.
- We deliver it — free, tracked, worldwide, with its certification card. A piece that exists nowhere else on earth.
Good to know
Custom rugs are made exclusively for you, so they are non-returnable and non-cancellable once production begins — which is exactly why we invest so much care in the approval stage before a single knot is tied. Lead times vary with size, construction and design complexity; we confirm yours upfront and honestly.
